Located on the western banks of the Ouachita River in Ouachita Parish, the resources of West Monroe are abundant. Glenwood Regional Medical Center, rated the No. l Heart Hospital in Louisiana in 2006 by HealthGrades provides quality healthcare to the entire region. In addition, the medical center was listed in the top 5% nationally for cardiac surgery.

Another resource is the Ike Hamilton Exposition Center that opened in August of 2001. The center was primarily constructed to host livestock events and has hosted some of the finest livestock events in the region. The facility is usually booked every weekend with an activity that draws vast crowds. Antique Alley located in West Monroe’s Historic Cotton Port District, has numerous shops that offer visitors the opportunity to purchase quality antiques from America and Europe as well as modern décor, clothing and day spas.

It is also home to one of the premier high schools in the state, the West Monroe Rebels are noted for their accomplishments in sports as well as academics. The community is one of strength, integrity, unity and hospitality.
