With 35 years of Military background with various awards and decorations, over 18 years in State Government, Chief Director of Operations of Beckwith Golden Gate Funeral Home, holding a wide variety of important positions culminating into his present position as Tallulah Mayor provides him with broad based experience. As a result, he has acquired the knowledge, skills, and leadership qualities to serve Tallulah, as its Mayor. His wish is to lead Tallulah with integrity and a vision towards a more prosperous and progressive future
He is excited about Tallulah’s potential. Mayor Beckwith believes Tallulah is one of the brightest cities in Northeast Louisiana with hard working, dedicated and caring people, a very interesting and proud history, with substantial vacant land, intersecting major highways, railways, and the Mississippi River. He also believes Tallulah is the underdeveloped gem in Northeast Louisiana. With your help, Mayor Beckwith says “Together We can” make Tallulah sparkle like the jewel it is. His Motto and Vision are, “Together We Can.” Together We Can, focus on the following: (1) Commerce, Trade & Jobs; (2) Housing; (3) Education; (4) Quality of Life Issues; (5) Public Safety; and (6) Administration. “Together We Can” be proud that we’ve delivered. We owe it to ourselves, our families, our descendants, and our ancestor to do the very best we can to put our difference aside and focus on protecting and developing our home.
Mayor Beckwith is married to the former Mary Louise Jones. They have two children, Michael Dwayne Beckwith, Owner of Beckwith Golden Gate Funeral Home of Tallulah, Louisiana, and Tiffany Nicole Beckwith, Office Manager for Allegiance Health Management of West Monroe, Louisiana.
